Fixed Limit
In poker variants with the fixed limit structure the size of the bets is limited in poker betting round. This means that the player should only choose to bet or not. Commonly the bet is raised twice in the last rounds of the game. That’s why, the initial betting amount is called the small bet and the doubled betting amount - the big bet. For example, in the $10/$20 poker game the gamblers may bet $10 during the first game rounds and $20 during the last. Keep in mind that this amount refers also to the size of raise. In some poker fixed limit variations there is a limited quantity of raises in poker betting round. The highest number depends on that or this casino hall rules. Some poker rooms can even permit unlimited number of raises, particularly when only two players are still in the game.
Spread Limit
In poker variants with the spread limit structure the poker player may raise and bet within the limited range. For instance, in the "1 to 5 limit" poker game the poker player can wager from $1 to $5. As a rule in the last rounds of betting this range is increased a little, it is shown in the name of game. There exists so called California Spread betting structure and poker variations with such betting structure have much bigger betting range, for example from $3 to $250, or from $20 to $750. California Spread is applied in poker variants in California where most widespread no limit betting structure is not allowed by local law.
Pot Limit
In poker variants with the pot limit structure the poker player is permitted to raise up to the size of the whole pot during one poker betting round. For example, if there are $10 in the bank at the beginning of round of betting the poker player that opens betting may wager up to $10, and he or she does wager $10, the next gambler may to raise to $40 (because the initial pot [size was $10 and after $10 calling of the first poker player the size is $30 thus the second gambler may raise $30). The same the third gambler can raise up to $140 so on. In some of poker variants the way of calculating the max raise is a little different that is why each time you gamble with pot limit betting structure pay attention on the basic rules.
No Limit
In poker variants with the no limit betting structure the poker players are allowed to bet and raise up to the size of the whole stake. Of course, there is the minimum amount to begin betting round and every raise is to be equal to the amount of the preceding raise or higher.
